This is a deposition from Östergötlands länsmuseum in Linköpung, where it has inventory no. 1846.

Gottlieb Rosenau worked for Specken since the 1740's and took over his workshop in 1759. Instruments from the 1750's are signed Specken, Rosenau or Rosenau at Specken.

This clavichord has a brass string scale. There are later clavichords by Rosenau in the same model, somewhat elongated, and with an iron scale.

The soundboard is a replacement. Originally the clavichord had 4-foot strings, but now both 4-foot bridge and hitch pins are missing. The bridge is probably original.
